Steve Laureti at The US Open: New York City

When you think of the US Open, images of intense tennis matches, the roar of the crowd, and the glitz and glamour of the event likely come to mind. But behind the scenes, there’s a quieter, yet equally captivating, facet of the tournament: the corporate events. Recently, I had the opportunity to perform at one of these exclusive gatherings, and it was an experience that offered a unique perspective on the intersection of sports and music.

A Grand Venue for a Grand Event

The event took place at one of New York’s premier venues within the Museum of Modern Art. A space renowned for hosting exclusive gatherings with a touch of luxury. The location was as striking as it was fitting for the occasion—adorned with sleek, modern decor that set the perfect stage for a night of networking and celebration.

The opportunity to contribute to such a high-profile event for high-profile CEO's in one of the world’s most exciting cities for the 6th year in a row is a testament to the power of music to enhance and elevate the atmosphere of any gathering.

Crafting the Ideal Ambiance

Upscale events are often defined by their attention to detail and emphasis on creating a memorable experience for guests. As a pianist, my role is to enhance this experience through music, carefully selecting songs that align with the event’s tone and purpose. For this event, the key is to blend seamlessly into the background while providing an auditory backdrop that elevates the overall ambiance.

For corporate events, this means choosing a repertoire that is sophisticated yet unobtrusive, allowing guests to network and engage without distraction. Popular classics and smooth jazz are often favored for their ability to add a touch of elegance without overwhelming conversations.

Glad to be a part of this year's US Open event.
