A Night to Remember: Speakeasy Piano at the Country Club of Charleston’s 100th Anniversary
This month, I had the honor of performing at the Country Club of Charleston’s 100th Anniversary Celebration, a truly one-of-a-kind event steeped in history, elegance, and 1920s flair. As the speakeasy pianist for the evening, I was thrilled to provide live piano entertainment that helped transport guests back in time to the Roaring Twenties — a fitting tribute to the club’s founding era.
Held at one of South Carolina’s most prestigious and historic clubs, the event was nothing short of spectacular. Guests arrived dressed to the nines in Gatsby-inspired gowns, tuxedos, feathers, and fedoras. The room was transformed into an authentic Prohibition-era speakeasy, complete with vintage decor, handcrafted cocktails, and classic jazz vibes.
Behind the piano, I performed a curated setlist of 1920s jazz standards, ragtime favorites, and timeless hits — all styled to match the mood of the evening. The evening then morphed into popular, well-known sing-alongs with guests singing along and even joining me at the microphone.
